i ran it as a test of hangouts, and i didn't get it working until halfway thru the meeting. couldn't even test it until now, in case doing so would disrupt the meeting.

We've used it fairly successfully a bunch of times for Boston Perl mongers.

i guess the next step is to borrow a decent webcam, and see if audio works properly when it comes from the webcam's microphone.

I'm most cases we didn't have the burden of capturing the audio and video. The speaker ran on their own laptop from a remote location. (Though we switch to our laptop camera for questions from the audience.)

it has to work from my laptop if it's to be useful at BLU meetings. Or from a volunteer's laptop, if omeone else wants to manage the recording.
