(07:22:15 PM) blu_jabr: https://www.openshift.com - OpenShift, by Red Hat (08:55:07 PM) blu_jabr: meeting ends - 8:55 pm (08:55:35 PM) blu_jabr: experimental livestream at http://youtu.be/uB5BSeVayBo (08:55:54 PM) tmetro: livestream? (08:56:01 PM) blu_jabr: tested with laptop' built-in webcam, so results are probably very low quality (08:56:43 PM) tmetro: the audio is more important than the video. (08:57:06 PM) tmetro: Why'd you post the link after the talk instead of while it was still going on? (08:57:59 PM) tmetro: Did you use Hangouts? (08:58:50 PM) tmetro: I tried to view, but it gives a YouTube error message inside the video frame. Probably because the stream has stopped. (08:59:38 PM) blu_jabr: i ran it as a test of hangouts, and i didn't get it working until halfway thru the meeting. couldn't even test it until now, in case doing so would disrupt the meeting. (09:00:35 PM) tmetro: ah, got it. (09:00:53 PM) blu_jabr: i'm playing the results now, and it seems there's no audio at all. (09:00:54 PM) tmetro: We've used it fairly successfully a bunch of times for Boston Perl mongers. (09:01:56 PM) blu_jabr: i guess the next step is to borrow a decent webcam, and see if audio works properly when it comes from the webcam's microphone. (09:02:06 PM) tmetro: I'm most cases we didn't have the burden of capturing the audio and video. The speaker ran on their own laptop from a remote location. (Though we switch to our laptop camera for questions from the audience.) (09:02:56 PM) blu_jabr: it has to work from my laptop if it's to be useful at BLU meetings. Or from a volunteer's laptop, if omeone else wants to manage the recording. (09:12:35 PM) tmetro: of course. == 19 Mar 2015 == (12:42:42 AM) sankey: damn missed the meeting again (12:43:28 AM) sankey: you all going to libreplanet this weekend?
