Like, they are listed on the network list, but the are like from some other place. Like for example ASC. I live out in a rural area and normally only see my home wifi network. 18:48 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Feldman I generally see several. I have 2 in my home, but I sometimes see neighbors 18:50 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel Unrelated but a question for the group. I have a request to put Qt4 on a RedHat8 box. Other than using third-party rpms, how would you handle this? Assume that they cannot port the app to Qt5 or downgrade to RH 7? 18:51 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- wah-lay @jestiv - if you recently bought a new wifi capable device and powered it up - it might be that device. Its in some kind of initial setup mode 18:51 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel Yeah these days even smart lightbulbs broadcast an SSID! 18:51 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Taylor Goodwill (RESF) @jestiv - a lot of newer cars also have built in wifi access points. I've caught them driving by in scans before. 18:51 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregory Kurtzer (Rocky) Jastiv: Perhaps the network manager is showing you the wifi networks it has credentials for? Is this a Linux box? 18:51 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- wah-lay yes, exactly - smart home equipment/hardware are prone to that behaviour. 18:52 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregory Kurtzer (Rocky) Lightbulbs?!?! Oh good grief. LOL 18:52 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Taylor Goodwill (RESF) alternatively, is there a flower delivery truck that has been sitting outside for days? πŸ˜„ 18:52 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- wah-lay @Rob its the device from @jestiv home that you are hearing πŸ˜ƒ 18:53 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Feldman 🍺 18:53 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamie What does RelEng mean? 19:02 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- John Abreau release engineering 19:03 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Feldman Release Engineering 19:03 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamie Thanks 19:05 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel So a kickstart install would go the same way as it does on CentOS or RHEL, correct? 19:07 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- wah-lay @Brandon - yes 19:08 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel tnx 19:08 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Bilow Is there no audio or am I missing something? 19:09 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Trevor Cooper (Rocky - Testing) There is audio Michael... 19:09 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- wah-lay @michael - you should be able to hear @Brian talking over the muted video. 19:10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Trevor Cooper (Rocky - Testing) Brian is talking over the recorded video... periodically. 19:10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Bilow I reloaded the page and hear audio now. 19:11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Trevor Cooper (Rocky - Testing) πŸ‘ 19:11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Feldman πŸ˜ƒ 19:11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel What are the Rocky people using as their workstation OS-es while developing all this stuff? I'll assume it's a mix. 19:11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Bilow I lose audio after a few seconds. 19:12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Neil Hanlon o i'm using fedora33 currently; will rebuild on rocky though πŸ˜ƒ 19:12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregory Kurtzer (Rocky) Brandon: we don't ask that question......... 19:12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel hah - my bad 19:12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregory Kurtzer (Rocky) πŸ˜‰ Actually, I have Rocky on two Dell laptops, and MacOS on my 2 Apples. I tend to use my Apples most of the time as I do everything in VMs that I can blow away or roll back to snapshots constantly for testing. 19:13 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Sherif Nagy (Rocky - RelEng) I have rocky on VPs, Archlinux on my work laptop and Mac on my old Apple laptop , some Rasbin on my RPIs, but that is gonna be rocky soon 19:13 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Scott Shinn fc34 here for my desktop, Rocky on servers 19:13 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregory Kurtzer (Rocky) My Apple desktop has a LOT of memory. Oh, and on the server side, the only thing I run now is Rocky. Except for when I need to run CentOS7 for Kubernetes (iptables) 19:14 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Feldman @Michael Bilow I had my earbuds mysteriously go offline a while back. It was an interaction with my phone 19:14 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Bilow I've switched to the Chromium browser, which seems to have solved the audio problem. 19:15 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Feldman Chrome/Chromium seem to be better than Firefox for Jitsi 19:15 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Bilow I've lost audio again. I'm running Ubuntu. 19:16 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jastiv I'm running jitsi on firefox right now. It seems fine. 19:16 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel Nice download count. 19:16 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jerry Feldman 😭 19:16 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Clemens (RESF) http://errata.rockylinux.org/ 19:18 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Trevor Cooper (Rocky - Testing) Also nice... https://docs.rockylinux.org/release_notes/8-changelog/ 19:19 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Bilow This is hopeless for me. I have no idea what is wrong with the audio. 19:19 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel Going to try an ARM build on an M1 Macbook to test in Parallels tonight. 19:20 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Trevor Cooper (Rocky - Testing) The `migrate2rocky.sh` script sits next to a [ README.md ]( https://github.com/rocky-linux/rocky-tools/tree/main/migrate2rocky ) that lists Known Issues for it's use. Please read before use. 19:23 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Sherif Nagy (Rocky - RelEng) https://github.com/rhboot/shim-review/issues/194 19:30 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael I Peanut butter porter = Sweet Baby Jesus? That is mine for tonight. Does RESF currently or will they soon produce β€œofficial” AWS/GCP/Azure x86-64/ARM64 machine images? 19:48 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Louis Abel (Rocky - RelEng) We should have official (from us) images in AWS... But I think Mustafa and others could attest to this a lot better than me lol 19:51 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Trevor Cooper (Rocky - Testing) In anticipation of want to do a show a tell I need to drop and rejoin to enable screen sharing. 19:51 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- wah-lay Yes 19:55 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mustafa Gezen (Rocky - RelEng) https://asahilinux.org/ 19:59 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael I Yes, my team is evaluating CentOS alternative. Rocky Linux is my leading choice. 20:02 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- wah-lay πŸ˜ƒ https://chat.rockylinux.org/ 20:03 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamie Could you comment on your financial support. How do you pay for thisV 20:08 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brandon Vogel Thanks so much for the info and overviews. I'll keep it all in mind in our next 'What the heck do we do now?' meeting. 20:08 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamie Thanks for your answer. 20:12 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ended at 8:15 pm
