[Q] shadow passwd, COPS & wrappers

First, I am mainly want information on how-to
set-up a shadow password file. My old SLS
linux had one, but the slackerware does not.

Also, I wonder if anyone would willing to share
their experiences with COPS on linux
and tcp-wrappers (I've used them on other unixes,
but I was curious if there were any linux quirks).
Aside from COPS, is there a list of security "holes"
in linux?

Thanks.
