Booting Linux from a secondary hard drive

Hello Linuxers

I'm considering installing a second Western Digital 210mg hard drive on
my Gateway 2000. If I decide to put Linux on it, can I boot Linux from a
floppy disk? Or will I have to install LILO?

Thanks,
Vin
