Booting Linux from a secondary hard drive

Yes, you can use LILO from a floppy to accomplish booting up from a root
filesystem on any hard drive.

You can also configure LILO in the master boot record of the first hard
drive so as to boot another O/S residing on that drive, or Linux on the
second drive.
