Wonder all you want, but let the actions speak

Sorry!

I knew that neither Digital nor Red Hat were trying to limit the
distribution of linux, which was why I thought that a comment to Bruce
Dawson, who had provided the extract from Digital News and Review to
Rodney Thayer, about possible misconstructions of the wording, might be
useful. Given that the words were at least in part aimed at a bunch of
people who can barely hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE, I felt that my concern about
the wording was justified.

I did not blather the version of my comments that you saw all over the
net - I only sent them to linux-sig-admin. I did that because I was
anxious to get some comments. No-one said that they thought that my
concerns about the wording were baseless, and in fact there was a small
amount of mostly constructive discussion about the issues raised in mixing
free and proprietary software.

When I did finally send my comments to Bruce Dawson, it had occurred to me
that words like "weirdos" might be inflammatory, so I removed them, since
I did not think, nor did I wish to imply, that Digital and/or Red Hat had
any actual desire to limit the distribution of linux.

Since I think what DEC and Red Hat are doing is a splendid thing, I guess
I'll take this opportunity to tell you so.

Hope there's no hard feelings.
