NFS Installation message

Hello again,

On the system I am going to install ( after the NET BOOT and ROOT disks ),
I typed the following command

	ifconfig eth0 111.111.111.111 netmask 255.255.255.0
	route add 111.111.111.111

When I run the "setup", I mention the installation source ( NFS Server ).
I type in my IP address, subnet mask and NFS server IP address. Then the
installation program tries to mount the remote directory and fails.

This is the following message it gives,

mount clntudp_create : RPC : Port mapper failure - RPC : unable to send
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

What does this message mean? How do I solve this problem?

Thank you for your help.

ps - I installing Slackware 3.0 kernel 1.2.13
