Modem that doesn't work on Linux

   As hardware becomes more incompatible, the deathgrip from Redmond grows
   stronger - surely someone will work on defeating it, but it may be a
   while...

I've been told that in terms of number of boxes, Linux has about 10%
of the market now, which is significant.
