Linux, Scanners, - recommendations?



There is a lot of traffic generated on the SANE mailing lists about the
UMAX scanners, and thus I would agree that they are among the most supported.
This only refers to SCSI scanners though.  NOT USB or parrallel scanners!
My personal opinion is that if you plan to support a scanner under
Linux, use SCSI...

You might also plan to spend an extra $70 on a decent SCSI card in case
you cannot get the card included with your scanner to work.  I say this
just to prevent the shock of "you have to spend more money".

I have a Mustek 600IICD scanner which works very well.
