Linux is topic on The Connection today 10am WBUR 90.9FM





I brought a portable radio in today and started to listen to
the show.  The guest was Simson Garfinkle and I had to turn
it off after 5 minutes.  Grrrrrr!  With supporters like him,
who needs detractors?  I don't know how WBUR decides who to
have as a guest on that show, but I suspect this was based
more on WHO he knows rather than WHAT he knows.  I tuned in
just in time to hear a caller describing his plans to setup
a Beowulf cluster; Garfinkel interrupted him to explain that
he should instead use Mach because it is a UNIX app developed
specifically for supercomputers and probably a better fit.
He also explained how one of the primary differences between
Windows and Linux was that "rm is forever" whereas Windoze
just moves files to a TrashBin where it can be reclaimed if
you want to...
