RCN headache, on day 1

I hate to bring up a soar subject, but the RCN guys just left and I have a question. With Mediaone, everyone had a static hostname. Does anyone know how to find out if/what the static hostname is for a person using RCN? I log into machines and I get this:

209-6-184-199.c3-0.wth-ubr1.sbo-wth.ma.cable.rcn.com

But I don't have a regular hostname. So, since I'm running at least 1 web server on a machine behind my linux router, what would be the best way to update my DNS records to show where my machine is now located? I control my DNS machines, but I'm upset at having to jump through these hoops. I am calling RCN to findout about my static hostname, but I've been on hold for 1/2 an hour so far to try to talk to a human.
