RCN headache, on day 1

Well, DNS works fine, but that hostname is as dynamic as my IP. If my IP changes, so does that hostname. I decided to go with TZO, it has a 30 day trial (no fee), and for $25 for this year, it isn't all that bad. It was easy to setup and it appears to work OK.

Something interesting that I noted, I did a traceroute and it appears my first 3 hops are 10.x.x.x addresses. I have a real IP, and my default router from DHCP is a real IP, but the routers I'm going through have net 10 addresses. I've heard of using net 10 for the loopback addresses of routers, but not usually in the backbone of a large ISP. So far, I haven't had any warm and fuzzys from RCN/Erols/who ever else they bought.

I'm starting to regret having switched. If I was only using the cable access, like a "normal" user I don't think it would bother me, but since I am running a web server that people actually use once in a while, it's a little bothersome.
