I concur; for me, Speakeasy has been excellent. < 2 weeks from hitting the
"Sign Me Up" button to connection. They are definitely GNU/Linux friendly,
and you get up to 4 static IP addresses, with no restrictions on what you
can do with them (though they do prohibit certain uses for bandwidth
reasons, not content: e.g. commercial porn sites)

I believe Bell Atlantic specifically states that their service is intended
for "client use" (i.e. browsing and email), and they can shut you off just
for running a web server. (I may be wrong about that, but that's the
impression I got.)

"subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the
message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
