CPan and Net::SSLeay

Anyone every been putting together Net::SSLeay with OpenSSL 0.9.4 and get
the following very frustrating error

cpan> test Net::SSLeay

   Unwrapped into directory /root/.cpan/build/Net_SSLeay.pm-1.05

make: *** [test_dynamic] Error 2
   /usr/bin/make test -- NOT OK

I'll be honest. I normally just run CPAN and stuff works. So when
confronted with the undefined symbol error, I'm not really sure what I am
supposed to be doing to fix it. I've searched deja.com, altavista.com, read
the page for Net::SSLeay, and according to everything I've found this
should have just worked. But it's not.

Any ideas? Advice?
