Plea for help: The detriment of using Microsoft products

You might try looking at StarOffice. It's a free Office-like suite from
Sun, that runs on Windows & Linux. The latest beta version (5.2) has some pretty 
solid filters for reading and writing MSoft files. Check it out at:
