second X server?

What I did was run 

  startx& 

then switch back to my original VC (though you shouldn't necessarily need
to) and then I ran 

  startx -- :1

It worked fine, although enlightenment crashed because it's not very well
behaved when it comes to multiple sessions, in any sense of the term...
