True, unfortunately, your generic PS/2 port is NOT hot-pluggable.  Some
systems seem to handle it fine and keep on chugging, on the other hand,
I've destroyed a motherboard (maybe two) that didn't like having a PS/2
cable plugged in while the power was on.  Damn shame.
