laptop recomendations

Well,
As you could see by my first laptop post - I had problems with one
of the new sony VA10's that had a K6 processor. I ended up returning it
- What I got was a Compaq Presario 1700 17xl365. I put Linux on it the
other night - although I haven't had a chance to really get it going yet.
I just have to get Ethernet going and sound - all of which is built in. I
got mine at best buy, after rebate just under what your looking to spend.
