Any luck with network attached printers?

Just to follow up... I purchased a Linksys EFSP42 (CompUSA $149, Buy.com $129)
which is a 4 port 100MB switch with 2 parallel ports. It took me roughly
15 minutes to setup, and I was successfully printing from Linux with the
stock lpd service.

And, based on the advise of this congregation, I've also purchased a
Espon Stylus 880 printer and attached it to my EFSP42. It's printing
color like a champ (low-res). I'll experiment with the gimp-print
module sometime during the Christmas holidays.

Thanks to everyone for their advise...
