Instant Messenger services

I upgraded to the latest version of GAIM over the weekend. GAIM is
primarily a Linux client for AOL's IM, but the new version has plugins for
other IM services, including ICQ, Yahoo, MS, and Jabber.

What does everyone else use? I'm curious to see what people prefer, and
how widely deployed Jabber is at this point.
