linux with IP masquerading on RCN

Has anyone tried to set up a home network using a linux firewall connected
 to the RCN cable service?

I have RH 6.2 Linux on a COMPAQ machine with ISA ethernet cards (detected
and configured). Am running 'pump'. Have been following instructions posted
for running linux on MediaOne. However my machine never obtains an IP
address from the RCN DHCP server.

Has anyone run into this problem, or successfully connected a linux network
 to RCN?
