TiVo the Spy

And thus one of the reasons for the growing number of privacy options for
blocking personal information from leaving your home, but that does little
good with something like TiVo or Direct TV when they require a full time
telephone access to monitor their hardware. A good reason to strengthen the
nation's privacy laws to forbid the secret collection much less
transmission of personal information. And we could use some good open
source measures that allow the end user to protect themselves from all this
as well.
