Procmail question (sorry if last one failed)

When I took out |IFS=' ' && I got this:

   ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"exec /usr/bin/procmail || exit 75 #ray"
    (reason: 550 5.1.1 User unknown)
    (expanded from: <ray at devit.net>)

   ----- Transcript of session follows -----
550 5.1.1 /home/ray/.forward: line 1: "exec /usr/bin/procmail || exit 75
#ray"... User unknown

I've been trying lots of different ways to do this always with the same
result. At this point none of the man pages are helping. I did a whoami to
be sure I wasn't completely 'mad' and it did return ray. Anyone else have
any suggestions?

I would just remove the IFS=' ' &&
