compa laptops and linux

Works fine. Several people here have Armadas. I have a Presario
1900LX161 running SuSE 7.1. All systems are functional with the 2.2.18
kernel including sound and Lucent Winmodem (was in Denver last week
and the winmodem performed satisfactorily). Compaq does tend to make
changes to these systems as they go. For instance, some of the
Presario laptops use a built-in NIC chip.
