IDE tape drive under Linux -- can it really be this simple?

PCs for Everyone is selling a Seagate TapeStor, model STT22000A-RFT,
and labels it as "Linux-OK". This is an IDE drive that uses Travan
tapes. I have recompiled my kernel to support IDE tape drives (I'm
pretty sure that was one of the zillion xconfig buttons I saw... :-).

If I install this drive in my computer, and set a symlink from
/dev/st0 to whatever name the kernel assigns it (probably /dev/hdd),
will dump(8) and restore(8) just work? Is there some other program I
need to install, or some other document beyond those two man pages
that I need to study?
