looking to buy a cheap laptop

Look for computer shows. The next KGP show is in Marlborough June 22.
Another possibility is to check online for refurbished computers. I bought
2 refurbished Compaq Presarios and have had no problems with them. I have
used one at the installfests, to teach classes once a week. I've had it for
a couple of years. The only problem I had was that the CD/DVD went offline.
I took the unit apart, reseated the cables and everything works 100%.

You are probably safer buying a refurbished unit directly from a
manufacturor like Compaq or Dell where you have some recourse.
