Missing kernel

In an attempt to update my kernel (RedHat 7.3 kernel-2.4.18-5) to 2.4.18-10
I ran: rpm -q kernel.
To my amaze I was given Kernel-2.4.18-5debug! I tried a reboot and was able
boot into the debug kernel.
When I ran up2date, I was faced with:
Test install failed because of package conflicts:
Installing package kernel-source-2.4.18-10 needs 224kb on the / filesystem

How can I accomplish this so that I can retrieve the kernel?
