Setting up a network printer

I have an Epson Stylus Photo 890 ink jet printer attached to an Asante
network print server. I'd like to configure my Linux system to print to
it. I have no need for GUI just command-line printing. However, I will
need to print out various documents with options like 2-up, 4-up, black
ink only, etc... What is the best printing system to use? What RPMs do
I need to install (assume they don't exist)? What files to I need to
configure? What ports do these services use (tcp/ucp and #)?
