Registering for redhat update



I am haveing trouble registering using
rhn_register.
I am running through a proxy at port :80, the
proxy log indicates that rhn_register is
attempting to connect to redhat.com:443 which I
assume is redhat's port 443
the error message I get is:

$ A socket error occured: unable to set up
CONNECTION tunnel, attempt #1
A socket error occured: unable to set up
CONNECTION tunnel, attempt #2
A socket error occured: unable to set up
CONNECTION tunnel, attempt #3
A socket error occured: unable to set up
CONNECTION tunnel, attempt #4
A socket error occured: unable to set up
CONNECTION tunnel, attempt
