What's better ... ADODB or PEAR_DB?

I'm in the process of moving some PHP code to use a DB abstraction
layer. From my limited research, it appears that ADODB and PEAR_DB
are the 2 most popular/active.

Does anyone on this list have any comments regarding this turmoil prone
decision I must face? Where's an unbiased hobbit to carry my burden when
I need one?

Wa-hoo ... only 48 hours till 'TTT'!!!
