If you're interested to get a beginning foundation of matlab, there's an
excellent tutorial by Kermit Sigmon. As far as I know, it's for Matlab
version 4. (Matlab is currently in the 6.x's.) But it shouldn't matter b/c
the tutorial covers the core language stuff that you need to get doing
things. I have a ps copy of the tutorial on my web page if you're
interested--
