Banning IPs from Apache?

Are the ips that the traffic is coming from reverse-resolvable? Are
they spoofed ips, or do they actually lead somewhere? Use this
directive <http://httpd.apache.org/docs/mod/core.html#hostnamelookups>
if they're not resolvable. I realize this does nothing for your problem
if they're valid ips, but it's a start.
