Solved Windows XP Audio Problem

After all this time, I'm pleased to report that I have solved the XP audio problem (crackling audio) previously reported.

Making one change to the Start menu appears to have done it, changing it from the default Start (new XP) menu, to the Classic Start menu, seems to have reduced the resources enough so that the CD audio is no longer an issue with WMP and RealPlayer.
