Thanks much! I thought it was too chatty. It's likely to be some fun doing  
the backup (I don't yet have a known-workable USD<-->IDE cable; I re-plug  
the cables to my CD_RW drive). Forgetting to mount the temporary drive  
doesn't help. :)
