+1

I've helped build a few multi-TB NFS servers running Fedora Core 4/5
with dual-socket (although not dual-core) Opterons and Xeons. When the
Opterons first came out we had some problems with 3ware cards, drivers,
and certain Tyan motherboards. But the situation has improved and our
latest dual-socket Opteron (Tyan MB) machines work nicely with the new
3ware 9550-series cards and are solid/stable performers.
