Linux Laptop Rescue with Knoppix

I always carry a Knoppix CD and DVD with me. At the installfests, I have
found that QTParted tends to work better than every other partitioner I
have used including Partition Magic. At the last installfest we had a guy
with Windows XP with plenty of space. The SuSE partitioner based on GNU
Parted failed. Windows was able to recover nicely and also I ran the
compression utility. Then, I decided to run QTParted, and it repartitioned
the system perfectly. After partitioning, we ran XP again just to make sure
it would boot, and chkdsk found no errors. After installation, we had no
problems booting into XP.
