Quad Core and Two duel core

I run a dual quad-core Intel server mobo @ work with Ubuntu Feisty
(7.04) x86_64 as my main box.  1 TB of storage in software RAID0, 8GB
RAM, dual Gig Ether.  A fun box with lots of muscle :-)  Will that
help?
