Re: Comparison of BSD vs Linux? (here goes the flame war!)



 Another (late) comment: I have heard BSD keeps better time.  If one 
wants to be a serious time geek (which can be fun), I have heard Linux 
is worse.  At least it has a bad reputation in the NTP community.  I 
can't find it now, but I thought I saw things about BSD keeping time 
within many nanoseconds and Linux only being good within a few milliseconds. 

Then again, NTP is reporting right now that my basement Linux server is 
apparently within 2 milliseconds of correct.  That seems OK for many 
purposes.
