Well, I was going to use SSH and was half heartedly considering nagious.

I was actually going to enable the firewall. (iptables or ipchains, which 
ever kubuntu uses.)

I as going to setup desktop sharing in KDE and, through ssh tunneling, 
allow remote access. We already have IM accounts.

Well, thanks for the tips, I was debating key vs password, so I guess 
that's a +1 for key-only access.
