This sets up a tunnel so when you connect to port 40110 on localhost 
(127.0.0.1), it will tunnel that to the remote end at <Comcast dynamic ip> 
and <Comcast dynamic ip> will then pass it to port 110 on 10.0.0.2. 
It will also connect you to a login shell on <Comcast dynamic ip>. 

Try pointing thunderbird to 127.0.0.1:40110
