Hello, I am a professional recruiter who has been retained by a local company to assist it in its search for a MySQL DBA. This is a full time job with excellent benefits. The job description is as follows: 

  


The Database Administrator will work closely with our development team on the engineering of scalable database-driven web applications for our production websites in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment. Additionally the Database Administrator will work with our analytics team building the next generation data warehouse. 

  

My client offers a competitive salary & benefits and a great work environment in T-accessible office space with parking on the Charlestown/Somerville line. 

  

Required Skills and Experience: 


  


3-5 years experience as a database administrator in a Linux or Unix-based environment. 
Strong knowledge of physical database design & object tuning. 
Strong knowledge of database performance tuning for both OLTP and OLAP systems. 
Experienced with SQL programming and code optimization. 

  

Preferred Skills and Experience: 


  


Experience with MySQL is a strong plus. 
Experience working with databases that support large, consumer-facing websites. 
Experience with ETL tools and routines a strong plus.
