If the Fiber goes through trees, expect breakage there too. 
If the Fiber goes through incompetent hands ...expect breakage there too. 
If the fiber goes through old flammable manholes, expect breakage there too. 

Copper breaks can be repaired by a guy with pliers and a ladder.
