Agree about Acroread.  The security issue is more that someone could 
actually get onto my system. The issue is really with me since I just 
click the button and go. I assume that Windows will complete the 
shutdown or logoff operation. 

The IT department is Canadian and they have different rules than we 
do :-). While I didn't a Windows PC at HP, I know that HP did use the 
appropriate tools to keep the systems up to date.
