Description: 

Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of all Linux systems. You will work closely with the rest of the Lionbridge Corporate IT team as well as internal application development groups to support daily operations and develop strategies to improve availability and utilization of Linux environments and the Lionbridge applications running on the Linux platform. 
  
Perform daily administration, monitoring and support activities for all company Linux servers. 
Install new servers according to Lionbridge security and server policies. 
Develop and implement administration standards and procedures. 
Monitor patch releases and make sure all servers are patched with up to date firmware, driver and OS  and application platform patches. 
Assist backup group with performing system backups of Linux servers. 
Provide input to the policies and procedures related to equipment purchase, use,  setup, administration, support, monitoring, security, and backup. 
Maintain and extend system monitoring frameworks. 
Support 24x7x365 data center operations. 
Support and develop application integration solutions. 
Provide after hours on-call support. 
Deploy applications to staging and live  internal and customer facing environments. 
Support internal development and production departments. 
Work closely with development and test departments to help define and implement strategies for improving how the Linux OS and applications platforms used by the Lionbridge Linux applications is configured for maximum performance and resilience. 
Work closely with development departments to define and implement improvements in the software platform used by the Lionbridge Linux applications with focus to improve manageability, scalability and high availability of the Lionbridge Linux applications. 
  
Requirements: 

2+ years administration experience in a Linux environment supporting business critical systems. 
Good interpersonal communication skills and written communication skills. 
Experience with network protocols and Linux security management 
Experience with Linux configuration management tools. 
Perl or other scripting language. 
Experience with HTTP/HTTPS configuration. 
Experience with Novell SuSE or Red Hat Enterprise Linux. 
Experience and good knowledge of how hardware effects performance and resilience of Linux applications 
  
Desired: 

Familiarity with Java application deployment would be a plus! 
Familiarity with MySQL databases would be a plus! 
Experience with virtualization technology would be a plus! 
Experience with iSCSI SAN technology would be a plus! 
  
Education: 

Bachelors of Science 
Red Hat or Novell SuSE Linux certification
