Virtualizing Windows on Ubuntu

As mentioned by Jarod your emulated hardware won't be your actual hardware.  In my case I have a legal copy of Windows XP Media Center that came with my HP.  Currently I'm running CentOS on that box.  When I tried to install XP Media Center it didn't work, saying that this isn't the correct hardware even though it actually is.  Fortunately there are easily obtainable hacks.  But this may not matter if you have a retail version of M$...
