NetworkManager is relatively feature-rich, but not very robust.  It
either works well for you, or not at all.  So you're going to get very
varied feedback on it.

The latest version (in Ubuntu 8.10) works very well for me, but I had
trouble with the version that came with Fedora 8, which I had on my
laptop previously.
