slightly off-topic: Podcasting software and workflow for a weekly church sermon

I'm not surprised that something like this exists. Thanks, but it's not what
I'm looking for.

I want to start the recording at an undetermined time during the service, or
even before the service. I definitely don't want to be fiddling with a voice
call. During a very simple post-production phase I want to crop out
everything but the time of the sermon itself. Gabcast doesn't mention
editing at all.
