Exim and/or Spamassassin question

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

I just upgraded (via apt-get upgrade) my server to Debian 2.6.8-2-686
two weeks ago. Ever since, I've been getting the following error:

exim paniclog /var/log/exim4/paniclog on billhorne.homelinux.org has
non-zero size, mail system might be
+broken. The last 10 lines are quoted below.

2010-01-08 02:22:48 1NT99L-0001cp-E9 spam acl condition: error reading
from spamd socket: Connection
+timed out

I tried setting maxchildren to 10 in Spamassassin, and limiting the
size of email in Exim4. Neither change made a difference.

All suggestions welcome. TIA.
