OT: I hate RCN's DVR

Myth can tune the cablebox.  So you get the ability to record off the
cablebox into a format you can access from anywhere, including watching
it on any other TV (with a Myth frontend) or transcoding it and copying
it to your laptop for when you travel or anything else.

All this assumes you understand the benefits of MythTV....
