About the Position
------------------

The 3M Lava Chairside Oral Scanner and Case Management System form a distributed network of Linux-based workstations and servers. Through a combination of Web and Desktop applications they are used every day by 3M customers and employees. Currently, the QA team is developing an automated infrastructure and testing framework for these important enterprise systems.

3M is seeking a sharp software developer to continue the automation effort and work on-site as part of the QA team. The ideal candidate will be highly technical; creative; motivated, and; have an eye for software systems testing.

This position provides excellent opportunities for engineers to gain experience in a broad range of technologies while tackling the complex problem of automating the verification of business critical workflows.

Responsibilities include:

* Developing a robust automation test framework and tools.
* Enabling rapid iterative cycles while supporting evolving system requirements.
* The creation and execution of automated tests.
* Root-cause failure analysis.
* A proven ability to ramp-up quickly on both new technologies and appropriate existing technologies.
* Conducting design reviews.

The candidate will work in an open and flexible environment where they are encouraged to contribute to and learn about the activities around them. Compensation/Advancement Compensation for this position will be competitive for the industry.

Required Qualifications

* Education: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
* Experience in Ruby, Ruby on Rails, shell scripting, and Mac OS X.
* Experience with professional software development - minimum 3-5 years.
* Experience with the design and implementation of full product development cycle.
* Strong experience with Linux/Unix environments.
* Strong analytical skills, ability to research and solve problems quickly.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with Git, Hudson, and CCRB.
* Experience with Selenium.
* Experience contributing to Open Source projects.
* Experience in Stress/Load/Performance testing.
